Thanks to everyone who entered my first giveaway (I was kind of worried no one would participate, ha!) and big congratulations to the winners! The box bag goes to Amber (akcarillo at yahoo) and the wedgie bag goes to Renee Pabon! I’ve emailed you both, so be on the lookout for that.
While I’m listening to my audiobooks, I’m sometimes cleaning, sometimes sewing, and a lot of the time knitting. Right now I’m working on a “Honey Scarf” which is a scarf version of the popular and very pretty Madeline Tosh Honey Cowl. That cowl was my first ever knitting project, and while I love the stitch, I didn’t really like the small cowl shape when it was finished so I gave it to Vada. For my Honey Scarf I’m using yarn from my stash, Tosh Vintage in “Rose.” I planned on using it for a lacy baby quilt for Liza, but the pattern was just a little too difficult for me. (I recently realized that I don’t like to have to really pay attention to what I’m doing while I’m knitting.) I’m on my third and final skein, and I’m really happy with the way it’s turning out!
I used to shove my knitting projects into these drawstring bags that came with my bed sheets. They’re really pretty, but I needed something a little more… appropriate. My friend Dani has a great online shop called KSC Designs, where she sells really nice, handmade bags and other pieces for organized living. Box bags, cosmetic bags, knitting needle organizers, etc. She had been talking about starting to offer some smaller runs of special artisan pieces, so I asked her if she would make a me a few bags. I picked out some fabrics and asked if she could do a brass zipper, and voila! I couldn’t believe how cute they turned out. The glasses zipper pulls? COME ON.
While the cuteness factor is through the roof, so is the quality. Dani has skillz. All of her products are legit, sturdy, and perfectly made. (Dani is also a perfectionist.) I own one of her circular knitting needle cases, a makeup brush roll, and now a large wedgie bag and a large box bag, and I love them all.
So, for my first ever giveaway in my entire life, I’m giving away:
A Large Artisan Box Bag from KSC Designs
A Large Artisan Wedgie Bag from KSC Designs
